1.2. How to Delete Multiple Labels

  • Access the Label Manager:

    • Navigate to your Jira project.

    • In the project sidebar, locate and click on Label Manager.

  • Select Labels to Delete:

    • In the Label Manager Ops, you'll see a list of existing labels.

    • Use the checkboxes next to each label to select the labels you intend to delete.

  • Initiate the Deletion Process:

    • After selecting the desired labels, click on the Delete button located at the top of the label list.

Note

When deleting more than one label, make sure to click the Delete button at the top of the Label Manager page. Avoid clicking the red trash icon in the row of a single label, as this action will delete only that specific label, even if multiple labels are selected.

  • Confirm Deletion:

    • A confirmation modal will appear, listing the labels you've selected for deletion.

    • Review the list to ensure accuracy.

    • Click on the Delete button within the modal to proceed.

  • Completion:

    • Upon successful deletion, you'll be redirected to the bulk operation process page.

    • A success message will confirm that the selected labels have been deleted.

1.3. Constraints

  • Deleting labels is irreversible. Ensure that the labels are no longer needed before deletion.

  • Only users with the appropriate permissions can delete labels. If you lack the necessary permissions, contact your project administrator.

1.4. Potential Issues

  • Insufficient Permissions: If you encounter a permission error, verify your access rights or consult with your project administrator.

  • Non-existent Labels: Attempting to delete labels that don't exist or have already been deleted will result in an error. Refresh the Label Manager to view the current list of labels.

By following these steps, you can efficiently delete multiple labels within your Jira project using the Enhanced Labels for Jira app.
