This tutorial provides a step-by-step guide on how to delete a label using the Label Enhancer for JIRA.

1. Editing a Label

1.1. Prerequisites

  • Confirm that at least one label exists to edit.

  • Navigate to the project's Label Operation’s page.

1.2. How to Edit a Label

  • Access the Label Operation:

Navigate to your Jira project.

In the project sidebar, locate and click on Enhanced Label for Jira.

  • Select a Label to Edit:

    • In the Label Operation, you'll see a list of existing labels.

    • Locate the label you wish to edit.

    • Click on the Edit icon(blue star)next to the label.

  • Initiate the Editing Process:

    • Clicking the Edit icon(blue star)will open a modal for editing the selected label.

  • Edit the Label:

    • In the modal, you'll find a field to input the new label name.

    • Enter the desired changes into the new label field.

  • Save the Changes:

    • After making the changes, click the Edit icon(blue star)within the modal to save.

  • Completion:

    • Upon successful editing, you'll be redirected to the bulk operation progress page.

    • A success message will confirm that the label has been successfully edited.

1.3. Constraints

Ensure the new label name is accurate before saving changes.

If you lack the necessary permissions, contact your project administrator.

1.4. Potential Issues

Insufficient Permissions: If you encounter a permission error, verify your project permissions or consult with your project administrator.

Non-existent Labels: Attempting to edit labels that don't exist or have already been removed will result in an error. Refresh the Label Enhancer for JIRA to view the current list of labels.

1.5. Understanding the Bulk Operation Progress modal

  • This page displays the status of ongoing bulk operations, including details such as the type of operation, progress, and any encountered issues.

  • It allows administrators to monitor and view bulk operations effectively, ensuring that label changes are applied globally as intended.
